Hello! I am Samantha
I am a Rotary exchange student from the United States to Denmark. I came here my Junior year of high school; meaning that when I get back, I will have one more year to finish.
Let me start off with my class. My class here has been 1c. And let me just say, you all are the greatest class at NAG by far. Everyone in my class really made me feel welcome and like I was a part of the class from day 1. When I got here; I arrived late because of some flight issues, so I got here and had to go to school right away and my class really made me feel welcome hours after arriving in Denmark.
School here is so much different than in the USA and I have definitely come across some things that have made me stop and think. Like something as simple as bathrooms. In the USA we would never think of having unisex bathrooms for everyone in the school. That”™s just something that doesn”™t happen but here it”™s a normal thing. Also, school parties. I know that the drinking age here is much lower than in the USA but it was definitely a different experience to see teenagers drinking when I was only hours off the plane.
My year in Denmark has been the best in my life and NAG has been a large part of that. If anyone is even thinking about being abroad for a year, I would say go for it. You will never regret it. It will change your life forever.
Tak for et fantastisk år NAG!
