Elever fra 2.x og flygtningen på vej fra Louisiana med deres pavilloner

Written by: Ditte Maria Ravnkilde 2.x & Camilla Dybdal Nilsson 2.x

The topic of refugees is currently very prominent in the media. 2.x had the unique opportunity to participate in an art exchange workshop at Louisiana on the 8th and 9th of October. The purpose of the workshop was to interact with refugees from the Red Cross and to break the cultural barrier through art.

The main themes of the workshop were belonging, community and coexistence. Each of us brought an object, which represented one or more of the main themes, and these were to be the foundation for the rest of the workshop.

Through dancing and creating handshakes and greetings, we established a way of meeting people from different cultures. With this idea in the back of our minds, we were to create palaces of the future that mediated the main themes to the public. We carried our palaces to the local train station, where we invited passers-by to become a part of our exhibition by inviting them into our palaces to reflect on belonging, community and coexistence in the future.

The art exchange workshop was a thought-provoking experience that merged different cultures in an innovative process.
